The resort

A record number of visitors

"To choose is to give up" said the French writer Andre Gide. Except in Les Arcs, one could answer him. Thanks to its five villages with a strong character, this resort in the Northern Alps is able to offer its holiday visitors an authentic, family, trendy, festive and great sporting mountain atmosphere in France.

The resort of all possibilities

What we like about Les Arcs

Originally a mountain pasture, Bourg-Saint-Maurice has developed over the years to become a very large ski resort in France, where everything good is possible, or almost.

The first ski resort to be built in 1968 was Arc 1600, followed by Arc 1800 in 1974, Arc 2000 in 1979 and Arc 1950 in 2003. Each project was accompanied by the construction of ski lifts (chairlifts, cable cars, funiculars...) so that the whole piste area was perfectly connected. A successful gamble since Les Arcs is now part of the second largest linked ski lift area in the world, Paradiski.

With five village resorts, Les Arcs necessarily has five times more skiing and best leisure facilities to offer its visitors to book for holidays but also, and this is the charm of this domain, five different atmospheres to propose to them. Each village has created its own identity to attract a specific type of clientele:

  • visitors looking for calm and authenticity will opt for Bourg-Saint-Maurice, located 7 minutes by funicular from the family resort Arc 1600.

  • more festive and modern, Arc 1800 is aimed more at a trendy clientele, seduced by its many shops, restaurants and open nightlife venues

  • more luxurious, Arc 1950 will please French and foreign clients looking for top-of-the-range services and a magical atmosphere.

  • more sporty, Arc 2000 offers hardcore skiers direct access to the ski slopes.

More than one string to its bow

The fourth most popular ski resort in the world, Les Arcs has everything it takes to attract powder and high mountain enthusiasts from all over Europe.

With its highest point at 3226 m, the resort benefits from exceptional snow conditions, which it has been able to take advantage of thanks to regular investments aimed at offering varied and efficient facilities to winter sports enthusiasts. Les Arcs has been awarded the Top of the French Alps, Grand Domaine, Nouvelles Glisses, and the Flocon Vert for its great commitment to sustainable development.

This ski area, which is attractive by nature, becomes downright irresistible regarding its accessibility. It takes no more than 4h30 by TGV to get from Paris to Les Arcs: few Alpine resorts do so well! Its international station even proposes regular connections by Eurostar from London or by Thalys from Brussels. A luxury!
