The resort of all possibilities
What we like about Les Arcs
Originally a mountain pasture, Bourg-Saint-Maurice has evolved over the years to become a large ski resort in France, where almost everything is possible.
The first ski resort established in the area was Arc 1600 in 1968, followed by Arc 1800 in 1974, Arc 2000 in 1979, and Arc 1950 in 2003. Each of these projects included the construction of ski lifts, such as chairlifts, cable cars, and funiculars, ensuring that the entire piste area was well connected. This strategic development has proven successful, as Les Arcs is now part of Paradiski, the second-largest linked ski lift area in the world.
Les Arcs features five village resorts, each providing an abundance of skiing options and excellent leisure facilities for visitors booking their holidays. This diversity is part of the area's charm, as each village offers a unique atmosphere. Each resort has developed its own identity to appeal to different types of clientele.
Visitors seeking calm and authenticity can opt for Bourg-Saint-Maurice, located 7 minutes by funicular from the family resort of Arc 1600.
More festive and modern, Arc 1800 is aimed more at a trendy clientele, drawn to its many shops, restaurants and open nightlife venues.
Arc 1950 will please both French and international guests seeking top-of-the-range services and a magical atmosphere.
More sporty, Arc 2000 offers hardcore skiers direct access to the ski slopes.
