What to do in Les Arcs?

The Arcs zip line, reaching speeds of up to 130 km/h, offers exhilarating experiences for individuals and pairs, available year-round. The adventure begins at the top of the Varet gondola, where you'll soar over the Olympic track of the flying kilometre from the Albertville Olympic Games, ultimately arriving near the Olympic flame at Arc 2000. On its south-facing terrace, you can enjoy traditional Savoyard specialities or be pleasantly surprised by one of the chef Thierry Denes's signature dishes. The restaurant also offers a comforting snack after the ski slopes close, along with dinner service.

At the Chalets de l'Arc, the menu offers a delightful selection of Savoyard specialities. Dishes such as Tartiflette, Croziflette, cheese crust, and Savoyard fondue are popular, but a new contender has emerged: the cheese maker's skillet. This house speciality features a combination of potatoes, vegetables, Savoie raw ham, dried meat, and a variety of Alpine cheeses, including raclette, reblochon, tomme, and Beaufort, all cooked over embers. It’s truly a dream come true for cheese lovers in France!

This coffee shop, located in Arc 1800, offers a delightful range of healthy options for brunch and breakfast. You can enjoy savoury dishes such as scrambled eggs, avocado toast, and salmon croissants, along with sweet treats like banana cakes, smoothie bowls, and pancakes. Everything is organic and homemade, providing you with the energy you need before hitting the ski slopes or the comfort you seek after a long day in the cold.

Just because you've come to enjoy the great outdoors in the Alps doesn't mean you can't also foster your artistic side. There are two options to satisfy your children's creative interests: you can book a drawing or watercolour lesson with Renata Buckova, a designer and painter who offers creative workshops tailored for children. Alternatively, you can entrust them to Muriel Carayol, a visual artist and therapist, who will be happy to help them improve their drawing skills, regardless of their age or level.

Do your children light up at the sight of clowns and circus acrobats? Allow them to immerse themselves in the exciting world of live performance. They can learn to juggle or swing on a trapeze under an authentic circus tent set up at the Les Arcs resort. At the end of the week, shows will be organised for parents to admire the progress made by their budding jugglers.

Alpine Baroque art emerged at the beginning of the 17th century, as churches and sanctuaries in the Haute-Tarentaise region were built or restored in a style designed to move, captivate, and inspire the souls of the faithful. Baroque sculptures engage with forms and create dramatic effects of light and shadow, which can be observed in the church of the village of Hauteville-London, as well as in the nearby site known as 'The Colours of the Baroque.'

Since the early 19th century, the textile industry has been established in the Alpine valleys. One of its last representatives, the Savoyard spinning mill Arpi, specialises in fabrics, plaids, cushions, and clothing. It opens its doors for visitors to explore its workshops and machines, which are classified as national heritage. You will be able to observe the different stages of wool transformation, from carding to spinning and weaving, and appreciate the finesse and elegance of the creations from this esteemed house.

Situated in Bourg-Saint-Maurice, the Brasserie du Petit St-Bernard (commonly known as PSB) is located in a former military garage of the town. This establishment invites you to explore its creations in a transformed bar that serves as a tasting room. Here, you can sample the house-produced craft beers, which boast evocative names like Bouquetin and Free Rider, as well as more exotic selections such as Das Bier and Sunny Side Up.
