An all-season domain

There's never a dull moment at the Portes du Soleil. Throughout the year, no matter the season, a multitude of activities are available.

The charming orange colours, the crackling of fallen leaves, the picking of blueberries and mushrooms, the bellowing of the deer, the peace and quiet... Autumn in the mountains is magnificent. It's the perfect time to put on your hiking boots and explore the many trails in the Portes du Soleil region. You'll be able to admire a unique spectacle, the silence of the peaks, forests, waterfalls and lakes when the summer season is over.

In winter, of course, you can ski on the 600 km of snow-covered slopes in the Portes du Soleil area. But that's not all! You can also try snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing, mushing and many other activities. However you choose to spend your days, the sublime white landscapes alone are worth the effort! And evenings of raclette, Savoyard fondue and tartiflette by the fireside are another good reason to stay in the mountains in winter.

In spring, the sun gradually warms up the resorts, the flowery landscapes are magnificent and the marmots come out of their noses. Skiing is still possible, but at lower prices and with less cover. The high-altitude terraces invite you to enjoy an alfresco lunch with a view of Mont Blanc, and it's also the time of year when the Portes du Soleil presents its Rock the Pistes festival. A great programme to enjoy the arrival of the good weather!

After all, summer is a time when the Portes du Soleil region has so much to offer. Are you more of a sportsman? Hiking, mountain biking, paragliding and climbing are just some of the activities you can enjoy for maximum pleasure and excitement. Or do you prefer to relax? Then why not go horse riding or spend a day on Lake Geneva. With the Multi Pass, whatever you fancy, you'll be able to enjoy all the activities of your choice at low prices!

Avoriaz

Avoriaz 1800 was born from an original concept, a little ahead of its time. Completely pedestrianised from the outset, the resort has chosen to close its doors to cars and continues to innovate in the field of environmental protection.

Morgins

The Swiss resort of Morgins, at the entrance to the Dents du Midi region, is famous for its water. Its Fontaines Jaunes (Yellow Fountains), its source de l'Eau Rouge (Red Water Spring) and its Fontaines Blanches (White Fountains) are a feast for the eyes and a true haven of peace! It's not for nothing that the municipality is home to world-famous sports champions.

Saint-Jean-d'Aulps

At the heart of the Aulps valley lies the charming resort of Saint Jean d'Aulps, the origin of all the neighbouring villages. Over the years, the hamlets of this commune have spread out on either side of the Dranse, creating the image of a mountain inhabited as we know it today.

Abondance

It's impossible to talk about the Abondance resort without mentioning its famous cheese, which dates back a long way. In the 14th century, it was even served at the Pope's table in Avignon! And this cheese is made by the Abondance cows, 100% Savoy, easily recognisable by their glasses around their eyes and their mahogany coats. You'll come across them on your summer walks in the mountains.

La Chapelle-d'Abondance

Along with the resort of Chatel, La Chapelle d'Abondance is home to the northern part of the Abondance Valley, considered to be one of the most beautiful in Haute-Savoie. Situated at an altitude of between 1,000 and 1,500 metres, the eight Nordic runs cover 25 km of pistes.

Val-d'Illiez

Situated at the foot of the famous Dents-du-Midi mountains, in the heart of the Val-d'Illiez valley, the resorts of Les Crosets and Champoussin have come together to form a single municipality, Val-d'Illiez. In addition to its rich flora and fauna, this resort offers you an exceptional and peaceful Thermes Parc, which now boasts a restaurant, a lake, a natural river with hot water at 27° and a swimming pool at 32°. All you need to recharge your batteries!

Torgon

At an altitude of 1085 metres, Torgon is known as "Le Balcon du Chablais". It is one of the resorts in the Portes du Soleil ski area, and the first in Switzerland. Whether you go here for a sporting or relaxing holiday, you're sure to appreciate the panoramic views of the Valais and Vaud Alps, Lake Geneva, Mont Blanc and the Dents du Midi.

Champery

One of the oldest tourist resorts in Switzerland, Champery is a place of authenticity and charm. Its narrow streets, lined with restaurants where the local gastronomy takes pride of place, shops and chalets dating back hundreds of years, guarantee a unique and unforgettable holiday.
