VAL D'ISERE: AN ICONIC RESORT FOR WINTER SPORTS FANS

Val d'Isere is more than just a Savoyard ski resort; it's the perfect place for a unique mountain holiday. There are endless activities to enjoy here, and if you love skiing, the area offers multiple green, blue, red and black runs.

Over the years, the village has developed into a world-famous ski resort in one of Europe's largest ski areas. When you stay here, you can ski on the same slopes that have hosted top athletes. The resort has hosted major international competitions, including Alpine Ski World Cup races and the annual Criterium de la Première Neige. Val d'Isère was also part of the greater Savoie region that hosted events during the 1992 Winter Olympics.

Val d'Isère has a wide range of slopes to suit all levels. You can take your time on easier runs like Grand Pré, enjoy routes such as L'Arcelle and La Mattis, or test yourself on challenging tracks like Joseray and the well‑known Oreiller‑Killy piste. The options are numerous and diverse. It's up to you to decide!

With children

If you're planning a trip to the Alps with your children, the area is sure to meet your needs. On a family holiday, you want your kids to enjoy it as much as you do. The Val d'Isere resort has been awarded the "Family Plus" label and offers several dedicated areas that may suit you.

Consider, among others, the Snow Garden, an excellent choice for introducing your children to skiing gently. Two play areas are available: on the snow front and at La Daille. The objective is to allow them to evolve in a safe environment from the age of 3.

Discover the Val Kids zones (located on the Solaise massif), which are play areas for children aged 3 to 10. This is an exciting way to enjoy family time while accompanying children in their first skiing experiences.

For a fun adventure, visit unique spots like the Lost Village. There, you'll find the blue runs of Criterium and Diebold. This area, accessible only by skiing, is surrounded by the larch trees of the Étroits forest.

A TOP DESTINATION FOR SNOW ENTHUSIASTS

One of the best things about Val d'Isere is the variety of attractions. You can certainly ski the best slopes in the area, but there are plenty of non-skiing activities as well. If you want to try something new, check out the Snooc, which you can access from the snow front entrance. It's a mix between skiing and sledging, and it's an easy, fun way to enjoy the slopes even if you're not an expert.

You can also visit the outdoor ice rink, which is perfect for beginners and children, and a great place to enjoy skating. Another fun option is the MoonBike, a snow e-scooter you can ride, ideally with an instructor. It's a fast and exciting way to explore the mountain.

A CROSS-COUNTRY FRIENDLY RESORT

Val d'Isère is an excellent destination for cross‑country skiing, offering well‑maintained trails in both the Manchet Valley and around Lac de l'Ouillette. The Manchet Valley loop runs through open meadows with good sunshine, while the tracks near the lake give you beautiful views at a higher altitude.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced skier, you can enjoy peaceful routes surrounded by nature and admire the alpine landscape around the village while practising one of Val d'Isère's classic winter activities.

ONE OF THE BEST SITES FOR OFF-PISTE SKIING

Val d'Isère also has designated off-piste areas. It's a must-visit for nature lovers, experienced skiers, and anyone looking for a challenge. The Grand Vallon, above Le Foret, is one of the most famous slopes, taking you from the top of the Signal ski lifts at 2,920 meters down to the Isere at 1,920 meters.

If you love excitement, try the Super S off-piste with its wide slope. It's opposite the Rocher de Bellevarde and near the Rocher de Solaise, offering great views of Val d'Isère's beautiful scenery.
