The resort

A resolutely natural spirit

Peisey-Vallandry is one of the most authentic mountain holiday destinations in the Paradiski ski area. Here, you'll find the peace and serenity that is appreciated after a long day of outdoor activities.

A mosaic of authentic destinations

What we like about Peisey-Vallandry

Less well known than its neighbours, Les Arcs and La Plagne, Peisey-Vallandry offers visitors an insight into Savoyard customs and traditions, as well as naturalness and authenticity that appeal not only to skiers and hikers.

As part of the internationally renowned Paradiski ski area, Peisey-Vallandry may, at times, seem overshadowed by the two-star destinations of Les Arcs and La Plagne. It is precisely because it seems less flashy that it is the ideal resort, very popular with families and children, as well as visitors seeking peace after they have taken off their skis.

Staying in Peisey-Vallandry is like going back to your roots. The resort comprises many hamlets and villages of character surrounded by mountain landscapes that have nothing to envy the great Canadian spaces. The old alpine houses and renovated wooden chalets are sure to charm you.

Cross-country skiing and nature enthusiasts will naturally be more attracted to the villages of Landry (800 metres above sea level), Villaret (1,300 metres), Peisey and Nancroix (1,350 and 1,400 metres above sea level). Those keen on downhill skiing, new forms of snow sports and lively evenings will more likely opt for the villages situated at an altitude of 1650 metres, namely Plan-Peisey and Vallandry. From there, they can take the spectacular Vanoise Express cable car and lifts to the heart of the Paradiski ski area, where everything happens in the heart of winter.

The four seasons of Peisey-Vallandry

A summer tourist and holiday destination even before it became a recognised winter sports resort, Peisey-Vallandry is, in fact, a collection of villages that are great to visit in all four seasons.

Skiing in Peisey-Vallandry may seem like the obvious choice today, but it’s important to remember the other attractions that this destination offers throughout the seasons. These assets have helped build its reputation over the years. The nearby Vanoise National Park offers outdoor activities that enable visitors to interact with the local flora and fauna.

From spring to autumn, a variety of activities such as hiking, rafting, climbing, mountain biking, canyoning, golfing, and trail running are enjoyed with great enthusiasm. Equally rich is the cultural heritage showcased through themed visits. Visitors can explore baroque art, local crafts, traditional costumes, and gourmet food, all of which will satisfy a curiosity for discovery.

The villages of Peisey-Vallandry are rich in places of interest, offering a warm welcome and a desire to share their true wealth: natural and cultural heritage.

It is no coincidence that the resort is consistently recognised for its outstanding tourist infrastructure and ski area. It has received classifications such as "Station Verte" (Green Resort), "Village Fleuri" (Flowering Village), "Station Village de Charme" (Charming Village Resort), "Station Grand Domaine" (Large Area Resort), and "Nordic Site."
