What we love about Tignes

Located in one of the best ski areas in Europe (the Espace Killy), Tignes takes advantage of its privileged geographical situation to offer its visitors a wide range of leisure activities.

In the heart of the Vanoise Massif, this picturesque village in Savoie is continually developing and is now one of the most popular destinations for a ski holiday. The resort also aims to develop tourism throughout the year.

Thanks to its high altitude, the resort can be enjoyed from September to May. The highest point of the village is at 3,450 m. In spring, the mountain is transformed, but you can also extend the experience by choosing the Tignes ski area. The slopes of the Glacier de la Grande Motte are open for summer skiing from June to August.

Tignes is one of the safest ski resorts in the French Alps in terms of snow cover and is also a charming village. This purpose-built ski area boasts an exceptional natural setting and various hamlets that have clustered around the village square over time.

The Haute Tarentaise valley has many surprises in store. For example, we love the long walks around the natural lake of Tignes, which in summer becomes a real paradise for lovers of aquatic activities (fishing, water jumping, stand-up paddle, canoeing, kayaking, etc.).

A holiday in the resort is also a great opportunity to discover exceptional sites. Discover the richness of the region's fauna and flora by making small excursions to the Grande Sassière National Nature Reserve, the Tignes-Champagny Nature Reserve, or the famous Vanoise National Park.

To admire the breathtaking scenery of Tignes and the Espace Killy, go to the top of the Tsanteleina (3601 m altitude), where a panoramic view, almost dizzying, awaits you.

Annual Yeti Race

Wake up the Yeti in you! Take part in the annual Yeti Race during the opening weekend of the ski season, where you race through 10 km, with about 15 obstacles and 350m of positive altitude differences. Teams of 4 racers are invited to dress up, creating fun for family or friends! This competition calls for strength, agility, precision, concentration, endurance and teamwork.

Enjoy the magnificence of the landscape

A sunset at the Fresse ridge, a moment of idleness at the edge of the Lac du Saut, a walk in the middle of the flowery alpine pasture of the Marais... everywhere, at every moment, in the middle of nature, you will enjoy breathtaking panoramas.

Discover the authentic Ferme des 3 Capucines, visit the Eglise des Boisses, book a visit to the Tignes dam... there are always gems waiting for you in the village and its surroundings.

Olympic Legacy

Tignes hosted three freestyle skiing disciplines during the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympic Games. You'll find Olympic signs still up in the resort, like the Olympic cauldron on the left of the Palafour chairlift.
