Ski in Les Saisies

The village of Les Saisies is linked to this vast, exceptional playground, which also boasts a privileged location opposite Mont Blanc.

Located in the heart of Savoie, between the Beaufortain and Val d'Arly massifs, the Espace Diamant is situated at an altitude of between 1,000 m and 2,069 m. This is one of the reasons why it offers excellent skiing conditions throughout the season. What's more, the resort uses hundreds of snow cannons to ensure that everything is in perfect condition.

Today, it comprises 6 exceptional resorts linked by a network of 82 ski lifts. Les Saisies is the first resort in the area, but you can also discover the whole of the Espace Diamant. There are

• 4 boardercross runs

• 5 slalom stadiums and

• 3 snow parks..

From the centre of the village you have direct access to the iconic downhill and cross-country ski runs. But you can also take the ski lifts to more remote areas. Take the Rosieres gondola up to Bisanne 1500 and slalom over to Mont Blanc. A breathtaking view awaits you! If you're more into freestyle or cross-country skiing, take the Baches chairlift up to Mont Lachat (Crest-Voland).

Of course, Les Saisies also has some exceptional pistes to delight skiers. The Elf Forest, for example, is a fantastic playground to explore with the children. For intermediate and expert skiers, there are the slopes of Les Fettus, La Legette and Les Chardons, as well as the Les Saisies Nordic ski area (one of the highest in Europe).

The principle is simple: you climb the snow-covered slopes of the Beaufortain massif before racing down, always on skis.

The exhilarating natural setting of the Espace Diamant will help you enjoy a unique skiing experience, with an emphasis on exploration and discovery. At the same time, you'll have access to breathtaking playgrounds with Mont Blanc in the background.

As with any off-piste activity, ski touring requires the respect of safety rules and even the presence of a certified instructor. Equally important is to be equipped with an avalanche transceiver.

This activity is a great option for the more courageous ones, looking for something extreme to do. Practising this sport in the resort of Les Saisies also allows you to enjoy incredible views of the surrounding mountains and Alpine valleys.

Here you'll have the opportunity to ski down slopes that are untouched by snow, away from the marked pistes and beaten tracks. However, you will need to be extra vigilant or have a professional guide to direct you to the safe areas.

The Bisanne and Hauteluce sectors in particular offer some pretty nice spots for this. From the Chard du Beurre (easily accessible from Les Saisies), there are also a number of different itineraries to choose from. A climb to the summit will reward you with a 360° panoramic view.
