What to do in Les Saisies?

Rail tobogganing is a unique mountain attraction at the Les Saisies resort. With a rollercoaster feel, this track whizzes down the mountain slopes to give you the sensation of fast, twisting speed. Particularly exhilarating, the Mountain Twister also allows you to see the surrounding mountain scenery from a different angle. This fun and exciting activity is available every season at Les Saisies.

Home to the Nant Rouge stream and its 2 waterfalls, this exceptional site lies between Les Saisies and Crest-Voland. It offers a wide range of activities for all ages. For example, you can get off to a gentle start with courses involving bridges, footbridges and zip lines. Enjoy a family, classic, and expert route.

The Chalet des Frumiers offers a simple but effective menu to delight your taste buds. Poke bowls, bagels, and homemade smoothies, among other items, are made with local and seasonal ingredients. It's a great place for families and friends to meet up between activities. On sunny days, you can even enjoy the terrace, which offers an impressive view of the Beaufortain.

Visiting the Beaufortain cheese factory is a great opportunity to discover and taste fresh cheese, prepared with love and care. Here you'll find a selection of quality products including Beaufort alpage 2 ans d'âge AOP, reblochon fermier AOP, tomme de Savoie and bleu de brebis. You can also try local products such as buchette, pancetta, and pork tenderloin with spices, among many others. The Beaufortain cheese dairy is simply an experience not to be missed if you're a fan of cheese, sausages, charcuterie and Savoyard gastronomy in general.

Le 1650 is located next to the best ski runs in Les Saisies. This brasserie offers traditional Savoyard cuisine as well as fast food and a variety of drinks... All in a friendly atmosphere and with pleasant décor, enhanced by a breathtaking view of the Aravis mountain range. What's more, Le 1650 is not just a bar-restaurant. It's also a game room with 6 bowling alleys. You can continue to have fun after tasting the local cuisine.

Go to the village of Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe (about ten kilometres from Les Saisies) to discover this exceptional museum. Dedicated to the tales and legends of the mountains, this magical place uses its enchanting setting to bring back to life the characters from our childhood fairytales. Cinderella, Snow White, Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood, Peter Pan... children will be delighted to discover them on stage. Older children can take a tour of the collections of objects and costumes that perfectly illustrate the region's most famous stories. Between the fun activities and interactive performances, you can also organise a sweet or savoury snack.

In the nearby village of Hauteluce (about ten minutes from Les Saisies), you can discover the historical heritage of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. This eco-museum displays a range of artefacts from the past, traditional costumes from the past and various temporary exhibitions. What's even more surprising is the reconstruction of an old home and a classroom, a real place of cultural preservation.

On the Col des Saisies, a monument commemorating the 1944 parachute assault will take you back a few years. As a reminder, on 1 August of that year, an extraordinary operation called "Ebonite" took place to supply the Resistance troops with arms and ammunition. From the centre of the village, you can walk to this emblematic site relatively easily, no matter the season.

Accessible on foot from the village centre, this chapel enjoys a privileged location on a hill close to the Pumptrack athletics track. Although the chapel did not hold its first Mass until 2001 on Christmas Day, it remains a fine example of the modern architecture visible in the region. Open to visitors, this remarkable site also offers a glimpse of the skills of artists such as master glassmaker Max Ingrand.

This is a regional nature reserve of almost 300 ha. Situated between the Beaufortain and the Val d'Arly, at an altitude of around 1550 m and 1718 m, it is still an unspoilt habitat for a large number of animals (black grouse, mountain owl, cranberry peacock, etc.) and many incredible plant species (sundew, butterwort, andromeda, trientale...).

Family fun takes on a whole new meaning at this place, where entertainment seamlessly blends with relaxation. Le Signal offers 800 m² of sports and wellness activities. With a swimming pool and paddling pool, deckchairs on the beach, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, multi-sports hall or gym, there's something for everyone. As an added bonus, you'll enjoy a modern setting with stunning views of the surrounding peaks.

This walk is one of the must-dos during your stay in the resort of Les Saisies. It follows a 12km loop that starts in the centre of the village and leads to an incredible panoramic terrace. It offers spectacular views of the majestic Mont Blanc, the Aravis mountain range and the Val d'Arly valley. With a difference in altitude of around 600m, this walk is suitable for intermediate to expert hikers. (Note that the balcony can also be reached by the Chard du Beurre chairlift).

A family walk of a little over 7 km, this activity allows you to enjoy the magnificent views surrounding the Les Saisies ski resort. The mountains and the alpine landscape will surprise you. This well-signposted walk is not very difficult and is ideal for walkers of all abilities. In any case, it crosses meadows, woods and ridges that are spectacular in winter.
