Being a pioneer winter resort has never stopped Les Carroz from being inventive and dynamic to attract summer visitors.
Although the arrival of skiing in Les Carroz dates back to 1936, the resort-village has not remained stuck in the past but has been able to evolve and adapt to the increasing demand for summer holidays in the mountains where one can enjoy the fresh air as well as a variety of activities and cultural and sporting events. Of course, hiking and mountain biking are still the main mountain sports practiced in Les Carroz as in most other Alpine resorts. Orienteering and obstacle courses and cycling events are also a big part of the summer events calendar.
But in Les Carroz we think of everyone, young and old, sportsmen and sportswomen as well as those who like to relax, which is why the resort offers a wide range of sporting activities (horse riding, caving, canyoning, white water swimming, tennis, golf, ice skating, hang gliding, etc) as well as wellness activities with the Aquacîme spa centre and the Mont-Favy leisure centre. Two places that are great to visit with children when the temperatures start to rise. And for the hot summer evenings, there is nothing better than an open-air concert with the Mountain Voice Festival in July, with its many concerts and musical workshops, and the Dahu Festival in August. There is never a dull moment in Les Carroz!
Les Carroz has the second longest ski run in France: 14 km of downhill skiing awaits you on the blue run of Les Cascades.
