The home truth:

One of the bedrooms offers limited storage space, and the window overlooks a courtyard with little sunlight.
The extra sleeping area is not a complete bedroom (i.e., it consists of a separate room with a door), but it offers two extra beds and a full bathroom.
The common areas (including the pool, steam room, sauna, and lounge) are open every day during the winter and summer seasons. Please note that they are closed in between seasons (approximately around mid-April and the end of June and again between the end of August and the beginning of December).
There is a communal bike storage area which, although shared, is secure and ideal for safely storing your gear after a day of riding.

We had an absolutely exceptional stay at the Sorbus residence with Émerald in Alpe d'Huez. It was a truly happy time shared with the family, where we were finally able to get together and enjoy every moment to the full. The accommodation is simply superb: spacious, very clean, quiet, perfectly equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. You feel at home as soon as you arrive. Accessibility is ideal, whether for the slopes or shops, everything is nearby, which makes the stay even more enjoyable and convenient. Facilities such as the swimming pool, sauna and steam room are a real bonus and allow you to relax after a wonderful day on the ski slopes, which are also magnificent. We had a wonderful time in Alpe d'Huez, both on and off the slopes. A big thank you also for the little touches that sincerely touched us and which we greatly appreciated. Finally, a special mention to the team we communicated with: they were very responsive, patient, extremely kind and attentive, which made all the difference. In short, we absolutely loved it: a perfect stay, an impeccable apartment and precious family memories. We will definitely be back!

The apartment is great and very well designed. The ski-in/ski-out access might be a bit challenging for beginners. We initially thought there were three toilets, but in fact there are two (with three bathrooms). Overall, it was an excellent stay and we really enjoyed it.

Perfect apartment for our young family of skiers, really brilliant experience. Clean, very comfortable, well-equipped (for example, first rental we have ever stayed in to have a decent supply of dishwasher tablets - who wants to buy a whole pack for a week's holiday!), building facilities were excellent and very nicely done - soft play and pool area both really nice. Location for the main Grand Rousses meeting point, very good (short trip on the telecabine lift).

Our experience with Emerald Stay was 5 star. I loved the fact that they were so professional and prompt in replying to any email / query. We arranged the ski hire/ lift passes and transfers through them and everything went so smoothly. We stayed in Sorbus. It is literally next door to the Grandes Rousses hotel. It was exceptional and had everything you could ever need including games, robes and slippers, down to cloths etc. Just a heads up the en-suites do not have a toilet in them which may mean a little disruption at night to anyone sleeping in the bunks but just an fyi rather than a complaint. It is ski in and out. From the main Grandes Rousses ski school meeting point you can ski back. It is quite flat but a great plus. If you are a skier then when exiting the locker room (we were level 4) I recommend you head down to Grande Sure. This negates the need to go up in the cages, as you can take the lift directly up to the top of Signal. There a public toilets up there too! Emerald Stay used AlpeSPORTS for ski hire. We walked there and back before realising it was at the top of the cages which would have been much easier than walking back with the gear! It was purely as we hadn’t got our bearings yet so in case you make the same mistake 😀 There is a laundry room with washers and dryers in the apartment complex. So great if you don’t want to over pack. If you have small kids the play area room looked clean and large and I imagine would be such a bonus. The table football is a plus and the pool area is small but completely sufficient. Alpe d’Huez is a lovely resort. Lots to do (we had one non skier) and Folie Douce is great for young and old 😀 All in all we’d have no hesitation in returning and will look to use Emerald Stay again in the future.
