A myriad of skiing options

Samoens is located in one of the largest ski areas in the French Alps. It offers 265 km of slopes, an incredible amount of skiing space.

Like the other resorts in the Grand Massif, Samoëns benefits from a geographical location with optimal snow conditions. Most of its slopes face north. In addition, 20 hectares of the resort's total surface area are used for the production of artificial snow.

Additionally, the village is set in an exceptional location. Whether you prefer the stunning green slopes adorned with trees or the spectacular view of the mountain with its snow-capped peaks, Samoens will meet your desires.

However, with its gentle slopes, Samoens is ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers, making it a great holiday destination. You and your family will have a plethora of entertainment and activities at your fingertips.

A beautiful family ski resort

Samoens is truly a wonderful place to live and visit. The village is perfect for unforgettable holidays with children.

Although it is a medium-altitude mountain range, it still receives plenty of snow. This makes the slopes particularly suitable for an ultimate skiing experience, especially for beginners or families planning a holiday with their children.

There are several ski schools in the area to ensure your child learns to ski safely. Samoens boasts one of the largest ski areas in the Haute-Savoie, located between the Grand Massif Express and Saix gondolas. Some slopes, like the one at Col de Joux Plane, are specifically designed for young skiers.

An area suitable for off-piste skiing

Located in the heart of Haute-Savoie, this resort features numerous green, blue, and red runs, making it a fantastic area for freeriding.

The Vaconnant sector is easily accessible via the Gouilles Rouges chairlift. The slope runs alongside the combe, providing a unique experience surrounded by wild nature. Complete your descent by reaching the water reservoir.

The Chariande Express chairlift offers some exciting features as it connects the village with the Tête du Pre des Saix. This area provides a freeride zone that includes a DVA park, and it also gives you access to the challenging Aigle Noir and Chamois black runs.

Samoens is an excellent starting point for exploring the Grand Massif ski area and all it has to offer. Purchase a ski pass to enhance your experience. Additionally, hiring a professional instructor can help you discover the best off-piste spots around the resort.

A domain with many activities

Apart from the ski slopes, there are plenty of choices to entertain the whole family.

Consider renting a bike for a fun ride through the village. You can also try exciting activities like a night out in the forest or a snowshoeing trip. This is the best way to explore the stunning snowy landscapes of Haute-Savoie from a different perspective.

Don't miss out on activities like sledging or dog sledging, which are incredibly popular with children.

Additionally, the resort features an artificial ice rink located in the heart of the historic centre, enveloping you in a warm and welcoming alpine atmosphere.

If you enjoy freestyle skiing, visit the Samoens snowpark near the Soleil slope.

A unique apres-ski experience

While the quality of the ski slopes is a major draw to Samoens, the village also provides numerous options for relaxation and re-energisation after busy days.

Its Savoyard charm is reflected in the local gastronomy, and like most ski areas in the French Alps, Samoens has a particular focus on cheese. Abondance, Emmental de Savoie, Tomme de Savoie, Chevrotin des Aravis, Serac, Reblochon, and more.

Beyond the Savoyard fondue and raclette, you can also try delicious culinary specialities, like the essential diots, Savoy sausages, and crozets, along with the Morillon chestnut soup and more.

Apart from the fantastic food, wellness activities, relaxing spas, cultural visits, and outdoor activities are also available.
