Warm interior and cosy south-facing terrace with a roaring fire. The cuisine is diverse: burgers, Flammkuchen, fresh salads, and traditional mountain dishes. Start your day at the Sherpa with a good breakfast or coffee, before taking the Jandri gondola (less than 50m away) to start skiing. The extensive bar menu features fresh fruit juices, a variety of draft beers, spirits, wines, and a wide selection of cocktails, all prepared by professional bartenders. Sit inside, decorated in a modern mountain style, or outside on the large sun terrace, where you can enjoy the fresh mountain air and dine, snack, and drink al fresco.

Stroll through the renowned Ecrins National Park, following the guidelines in place to preserve its natural flora and fauna. The area is home to over 740 kilometres of hiking trails, as well as 2,500 plant species, including 40 rare or threatened species. If you're lucky, you may even get to see some alpine wildlife such as the chamois goats or griffon vultures. Less than 30 minutes from the Gondola lift, follow the path to Lac de la Muzelle, a short walk away from the waterfall that flows directly from the La Muzelle Glacier. Another spot to check out is Lac du Lauvitel, which is a 90-minute walk starting from the hamlet of La Danchère. This is the largest lake in the Ecrins massif at an altitude of 1530 metres. In the summer, you're free to roam this beautiful park, while in the winter, a guide is required.

Pick up a map at the tourist centre in the village of Venosc and embark on a hike to learn more about the town and its surrounding hamlets. As you walk along the trail, 12 panels will trace the history of Venosc. Start near the Venosc gondola, where two panels will tell you about the history of the ski lift and the birth of tourism in the valley. Pass through several landmarks guiding you to the road of "le Cours de la vie", where you'll find out how it got that name before ending the hike at the Saint-Pierre de Venosc Church. The hike is approximately 2.6 km long and takes approximately an hour, excluding time for stops. Bring the whole family and discover the rich Alpine culture.

Visit the House of Arts and Traditions, "Chasal Lento", situated in Mont de Lans. Discover the town's rich history, spanning from the Romans and peddlers to the construction of the Chambon Dam, and the pioneering years that have shaped Les 2 Alpes into the resort it is today. The museum features a café area where you can enjoy delicious treats in a bistro atmosphere reminiscent of yesteryear, or on the terrace. Here, you can browse through the library's collection of books related to the museum, play cards and board games, or participate in several activities designed for children.

Located in Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans, just under an hour's drive from Les 2 Alpes, learn the history of mountaineering and the tales that go with it. Here you'll follow along on the journeys of those who pioneered the sport. One notable guide you'll learn about is Pierre Gaspard, the first to ascend la Meije. See birds-eye views of rugged and prestigious peaks while listening to anecdotes about those who conquered them. For those fascinated by the history of alpinism, this is the spot for you.

Located inside the attic of the church of Le Bourg-d'Oisans, discover a rich collection of minerals and a display of Alpine wildlife. See exact replicas of these alpine animals in their natural habitat. You'll be able to view these majestic animals from up close, such as the black grouse, which may be more challenging to see from the peaks of the mountain. Next, put on your metaphorical headlamp and uncover the minerals of the Oisan region. Marvel at the shocking sizes of quarts or amethyst, most likely extracted from the famous Gardette mine. Don't miss the informative panels created by the Grenoble Museum and the French National Centre for Scientific Research, which teach the complexities behind the chemistry of minerals and crystallography throughout the museum!

Take part in a yoga class led by Lucie, a Yoga Alliance RYT-500 certified yoga teacher who received her international diploma in Rishikesh, India (the mecca of yoga), and later earned an advanced diploma from Mysore, India (home of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga). Lucie is also experienced in teaching yoga to children, meaning you can bring your children to class with you from the age of 3. Classes take place either in a studio or outdoors, surrounded by nature. In the summer, you may do yoga in a garden with mountain views or on the pontoon of the lake. During the winter, some classes are held on a terrace at an altitude of 2,200 metres. Yogaltitude accepts groups of 15, so book early to secure your spot!

A holiday in the mountains also offers the opportunity to enjoy some shopping along the resort's famous Avenue de la Muzelle and the surrounding streets. More than 20 artisans and artists have volunteered to join the Route des Savoir-Faire. These volunteers open their workshops to share their craft with visitors. You can attend a poetic and musical creation course being held at Sophie's barn. Visit a mosaic shop where Laurence sells her one-of-a-kind creations, even taking requests for custom mosaics. Head over to Stéphanes' atelier, where you might catch him throwing clay to make ceramic art. In the Oisan region, the creative mind thrives.
