Where to ski in Espace Diamant?

When it comes to finding the best ski itineraries in Espace Diamant, the choice is yours.

The five village resorts offer a wide range of interconnected ski routes. Experienced skiers will be drawn to pistes such as Les Fettus, La Legette, and Les Chardons, all accessible from Les Saisies.

From Les Saisies, you can also take the Palette Piste to Crest-Voland Cohennoz, or take the Baches piste to go the other way.

There are easy slopes for beginners and more challenging slopes for experts. Though wherever you choose to go, you'll find a warm and welcoming environment to spend your holiday.

The ski lifts will take you to snowy areas further afield. The Rosieres cable car, for example, will take you to Bisanne 1500, where you can enjoy a magnificent panorama facing Mont Blanc.

Cross-country skiers can opt for the Les Baches lift to Mont Lachat in Crest-Voland Cohennoz.

With the kids

At Les Saisies, the youngest skiers can enjoy their first mild slopes in the Espace Debutant, a secure area equipped with fun facilities. The Montagne des Elfes is also a fantastic area for your children to explore. Giant mushrooms, tree-trunk tunnels, banked bends, and a host of other modules make up this magical area.

Thrill-seekers of all ages can also have an unforgettable time on one of the 5 Waoulands spread around Espace Diamant. Here, the idea is to have fun as a family on a course where whoops, tight bends, springboards, and other natural obstacles await you.

In Praz-sur-Arly, the Opoualand fun run is for children aged six and over. Dedicated to the under-12s, this is a fun-filled learning environment with plenty of attractions, where youngsters can practise their skills in games of skill, on gantries, through slaloms, and more.

They'll also have the chance to discover the hidden mysteries of the mountains, such as safety on the slopes, snowdrops, and mountain echoes. And the good news is that the Opoualand webcam will immortalise your children's exploits, so you won't miss a moment of their progress!

Other winter sports

Skiing isn't the only reason to choose Espace Diamant as your holiday destination. Other winter sports are available in the area's resorts. In Praz-sur-Arly, you can enjoy the incredible sensations of the Yooner, a light and comfortable machine that lets you play on the mountain's hills.

Snowscoot is another fun activity to enjoy with friends and family, with available introductory courses in Flumet. This snow scooter is great fun for the whole family.

For those who don't feel brave enough to put on skis, snowshoes are a good alternative for exploring the snow-covered landscape. In Crest-Voland Cohennoz, you can try out the Skibob, a kind of bikeski, to discover the slopes more easily than on skis.

For a great time with friends or family, Espace Diamant offers you access to the Mountain Twister, a toboggan ride on rails. With nearly 800 metres of thrilling descents, acceleration, waves and bends, the boat will give you an incredible, adrenaline-fueled experience

Other services, such as snowboarding lessons and introductory ski touring courses, are at your service at various Espace Diamant resorts.

Freeride version

Experienced skiers will have plenty of opportunities to go off-piste. The Les Saisies ski area offers a number of freeride possibilities. For example, the Bisanne sector is a good place to find interesting itineraries. There are easy off-piste runs and others for more experienced freeriders.

On the Hauteluce side, the Lanches slopes are perfect for those who like sharp slopes. If you're staying in Praz-sur-Arly, you'll find the ideal off-piste routes at Ban Rouge. The Crêt du Midi is a classic for off-piste enthusiasts.

Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe is one of the best spots for freeride skiing. Thrill-seekers will be delighted by its crazy slopes. The Vores massif is packed with slopes, crossing forests, streams and incredible plains. And for the more cautious skiers, the Mont Rond sector also offers some great, more relaxed rides.

The Chard du Beurre piste, accessible from Les Saisies resort, gives you access to several different itineraries, depending on your preferences. If you're brave enough to climb to the top, you'll be rewarded with a 360° panoramic view.

Nordic version

The Espace Diamant, awarded the Site d'excellence 4 sapins label by Nordic France, has some of the finest runs for cross-country skiers. Renowned as one of the largest in France, the Les Saisies Nordic ski area was used as a backdrop for the 1992 Albertville Olympics.

You can let yourself be carried through forests and wide plains over a total distance of 120 km and discover a panorama of magnificent scenery. The longest slope, at Les Saisies, offers a 22 km walk in a calm and relaxing atmosphere.

The Espace Diamant Nordic ski area caters to skiers of all levels, from beginners to advanced. For beginners, there's a choice of green runs: 1er trace Saisies (1 km), Marmottons (3 km), and Decouverte (5 km ). If you're more of the daredevil type, you can venture out on the 8.5 km Évasion or 11 km Grand Adventure blue runs. Finally, the 22 km Justine Braisaz black run will fulfil even the most experienced skiers.

In Praz-sur-Arly, a beautiful cross-country skiing loop has been created on the Arly plain. The terrain is flat and sunny. As cross-country skiing becomes increasingly popular, there are plenty of shops where you can hire your skis.
