A stay in the ski resort of Flaine is an opportunity to contemplate some magnificent Alpine scenery. Its highest point is the Grandes Platieres summit at 2,500 m altitude. It offers a breathtaking 360° panorama.
Flaine is also a picturesque village renowned for its exceptional sculpture park. Take a stroll through the village and you'll be able to admire some magnificent works, including Le Boqueteau, La Tête de Femme and Les Trois Hexagones.
Ideal for hiking and mountain biking, its specially prepared trails also reveal the most beautiful facets of the French Alps.

As well as the must-do runs like the Combe de Gers (for the more experienced skiers), the resort also offers visitors 5 secure freeride runs. Flaine is also home to the highest Nordic area in the Alps, with the best snow cover (the Col de Pierre Carree)
The village is best known for its rich artistic and architectural heritage. Flaine is home to life-size works by renowned sculptors such as Jean Dubuffet, Pablo Picasso and Victor Vasarely. Today, they represent a truly remarkable and prestigious heritage for its inhabitants.
Founded in 1970, this contemporary art institution presents a variety of exhibitions by major 20th-century artists. Located in the centre of the village, it offers a cultural and educational visit for everyone. On your own or in a group, you can also take a lazy day out to discover the resort and its wonders. The art centre also has a library with 2,600 books on loan.
The fact that Flaine is so different from the other villages around it is probably due to the fact that it was designed by the geophysicist Éric Boissonnas. Its slopes, meanwhile, were designed by three-time ski champion Emile Allais. They put their personal knowledge and experience to work to create a top-quality resort.
