To each its own Courchevel
What we love about Courchevel
Courchevel has always had an air of innovation about it, serving as inspiration to other resorts in France aspiring to achieve excellence. Often imitated, never equaled, it is always one step ahead in satisfying the desires of sports and nature enthusiasts in its own, forever-envied, Courchevel way.
It is the first French resort to have been developed on a completely virgin site, and also the pioneer of the ski-in ski-out concept. They have done so by constructing accommodation along the slopes and creating a tight network of ski lifts and shuttles, allowing visitors to transport without the need for a car.
Skiing in Courchevel means offering yourself the best in terms of its infrastructure and possibilities.
The resort is part of one of the largest ski areas in the world: the 3 Valleys. More than 180 green or blue runs and 140 red and black runs compete for the 600 km of descent.
This extraordinary ski area will host the World Ski Championships in 2023. The opportunity to underline the exceptional character of Courchevel once again, one of the two host resorts for the event which will host, alongside Méribel, downhill, combined, giant slalom or even super G.
The resort with five atmospheres
Courchevel offers its visitors many possibilities and atmospheres with its five villages, each with a distinct character creating the perfect ground for a unique stay.
Courchevel 1850 is the most famous and perfect spot for those who wish to bask in the liveliest, most dazzling part of the resort. Michelin-starred restaurants, restless evenings, luxury boutiques all contribute to building the international identity of this village. On the ski side, Courchevel 1850 allows access in only two lifts to the highest point, the summit of the Saulire and its 2730m altitude.
If you go a little further down, you will discover the ideal village for families, Courchevel Moriond or what is also known as Courchevel 1650. Clenching the sunniest resort's title, it extends itself to family skiing as it grasps many of the green and blue slopes. Its wide choice of restaurants and bars also guarantees cosy evenings.
It only takes two and a half minutes to reach Courchevel 1850 by cable car from Courchevel Village located at an altitude of 1,550m and only 2.5km of slopes to reach the opposite path by sledge. Aquamotion, the largest mountain water park in Europe, is also well appreciated by families choosing this village.
On the other hand, the villages of Courchevel La Tania and Le Praz are more discreet and intimate. It offers tranquillity and a change of scene to holidaymakers who come to seek the authenticity and charm of a small resort. Like the village located further up, they are connected to the slopes in a few minutes via shuttles and cable cars.
